It’s been two years since Switch & Play NYC has formed, and we’re doing another anniversary event! Once again, we are grateful for all of you guys coming through these past two years!

We will be hosting a competition, similar to that of the Nintendo World Championships, where players will be completing in a series of rounds, where everyone will be playing different games with their own challenges. There will be different games each round, with sub rounds where those who lost have a chance of making it through.

The event will be hosted at Waypoint Cafe NYC on Friday, March 22nd! Sign ups will start as early as 3PM, and the competition will start at 6PM!

DIRECTIONS:

To get to Waypoint Cafe, take the D Train to Grand St. From there, it’s a five minute walk to Ludlow St. After you reach Ludlow, make a left turn, and it’s a very short walk. You could also take the F Train to Delancey St. From there, it’s a three minute walk to Ludlow.

Please note that Waypoint Cafe has a strict policy on outside food, and we would ask all attendees not to bring any outside food with you. We would like to suggest supporting the store by buying a drink, food, or snacks. If you would like outside food, there’s places all over where you could go to, just as long as you don’t bring it back with you to the cafe.

Coexist Gaming is back for March Madness, the gaming edition. We will be featuring insane games for another highly anticipated event with our favorite community! Returning with some of our favorites at the N64 Retro Station, our classic custom arcades, Smash bros, NBA 2K19, and over 2000 retro games to conquer. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, we are introducing the one and only Dead or Alive 6 and Tecmo is back to take the crown! We will also be debuting “The Division 2” at our 4-player battle station. The fun never ends at a COEXIST Gaming event; even our backyard highlights beer pong table and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

One part nerd, one part slurred, Super Trashed Bros brings together comedy, video games and alcohol at a super rad bar in Brooklyn. Join comedians Jesse McGrath, Seamus Calder, and Brandon Garner as they virtually battle amongst themselves while physically battling inebriation. Audience participation is essential as a live crowd and online viewers—from the streaming platform Twitch—suggest new rules and new gags. Spades Rules:
We have our very first spades tournament with cash prizes for the winners. When we start the tournament, those that are late will not be able to play so please be punctual to respect the time of others.

We will have either an 8, 12 or 16 player bracket. If 16 show up, we will have a straightforward tourney. If 8 players show up, we will have a losers and winners bracket to extend the tourney and give those defeated a second chance.

Here are some rules so you can look them up and have an idea of what to expect(I will have printouts for each player):

– Top 5 in play – Big Joker, Little Joker, Deuce of Diamonds, Deuce of Spades, Ace of Spades
– Sandbags
– Go for 10 (Bubble) you will either gain 20 or lose 20 depending on the turnout of the hand
– First hand bids itself
– Dealing team bids their hand last
– no Ace check
– no First 7
– Bostons (Team wins all 13 books in a hand) mean an automatic win for that set
