September is here, and Indie games have taken the Nintendo Switch by storm! So why not dedicate this month’s event to Indies on Nintendo Switch, or as Nintendo likes to call them, “Nindies”?

Starting at 3PM on September 21st, we will be meeting up at Waypoint Cafe, as we celebrate nindies that are on the Nintendo Switch. We will have tons of select games for people to play:

– Pocket Rumble
– Wizard of Legend
– Runbow
– Enter the Gungeon
– Crawl
– Graceful Explosion Machine
– Jackbox Party Pack 1-4
– Use Your Words
– Overcooked 2
– Blade Strangers
– Light Fingers
– Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes
– Flat Heroes
– Human: Fall Flat

And Many More!

We will be rotating each game, so everyone would have a chance to try out different Nindie titles!

To get to Waypoint Cafe, take the D Train to Grand St. From there, it’s a five minute walk to Ludlow St. After you reach Ludlow, make a left turn, and it’s a very short walk. You could also take the F Train to Delancey St. From there, it’s a three minute walk to Ludlow.

Please be mindful, and respect other patrons at Waypoint Cafe, as well as the management. We also urge anyone attending the event not to bring outside food to the venue.

We hope that you are able to join us, as we look forward to having you with us!

Wingbot x CSM Super Smash Bros. Wii U Tournament @ Wingbot @ Canal Street Market
Dec 1 @ 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm

About the Event:

Hey all! Welcome to the 1st Wingbot Super Smash Bros. Tournament ever! To celebrate the coming of the new Ultimate game coming out on December 7th, we are working alongside Canal Street Market to host a casual tournament. All are welcome as long as you abide by the rules listed further below. The version of SSB will be for the Wii U. Anyone who will not be participating may come to cheer for their friends or enjoy the show. If the tournament ends early, free play will be allowed until the end of the day. Anytime during the day, mention “SSB” at our shop (located in the same location) will net you 15% anything in-store just for that day. The discount ends at 7 PM that day and will only be allowed during that specific day.

A snack station will be set up with Japanese snacks and drinks such as Ramune, Pocari Sweat, Sapporo Juices for drinks and Pocky, Gummy Choco, Kit-Kats, and Dorayaki to name a few. They will be available for purchase anytime during the event.

Prizes are separated to Grand Prize, 2nd Place, and 3rd Place. They consist of:

Grand Prize: $100 Amazon Gift Card + Selection of Gifts from the Wingbot Shop
2nd Prize: $50 Amazon Gift Card + Selection of Gifts from the Wingbot Shop
3rd Prize: $10 Amazon Gift Card + Selection of Gifts from the Wingbot Shop

Rule Set:

The game will be set up as the first game: 6 minutes, 4 players free for all. Matches beyond the first will be 1v1, 3 stock matches. Best out of 3. All characters can be used except for mii fighters and custom characters. Please bring your own controller. The tournament will begin around 1 to 2 PM. The total amount of participants will be capped at 32 for just this event. Player(s) will have between 5 to 10 minutes to show up, and if they fail to do so without getting prior TO consent to be late, will result in a loss of the first match. 5 to 10 more minutes without showing up results in a loss of the entire set. More in-depth rules are below. Any other questions, please email us at wingbotinc@gmail.com.

3 stock for 1v1 games.
6 minutes for 4 player, free for all games.
Items are turned to off and none.
Pause is disabled.*
Stalling is banned.
If time runs out, the winner is determined by remaining stock, and then by ending damage percentage.

If both stock and percentage are identical, or a game ends with both players being KO’d simultaneously, then a tiebreaker is played. A tiebreaker is a 1 stock, 3-minute match with the same characters and the same stage.

Custom characters/mii fighters are not allowed.
Players are expected to bring their own controller and be prepared for every tournament set (often known as BYOC; Bring Your Own Controller), though tournaments may occasionally have a few controllers that players can borrow.
If pausing is left on, and a player pauses, the pausing player generally must forfeit their current stock immediately; some tournaments only require players to forfeit upon their opponent’s request, while other rulesets force any pausing player to forfeit regardless of the opponent’s request. There are a few tournaments, however, where a TO must resolve the situation in the following way. Unpausing before a TO arrives and without the opposing player’s consent typically results in a loss of stock for the unpaused.
If the situation is neutral, the match is resumed with no further action once all players are ready.
If the player who paused is at a disadvantage, once the game resumes they are to be placed either on the edge of the stage or in an opponent’s grab if they were being grabbed.
If the player who paused is in a “death situation”, their current stock is forfeited immediately.
Players who use wireless controllers are responsible for turning off and de-syncing their controllers to prevent interference. Some tournaments ban wireless controllers entirely to avoid this problem.
Players are responsible for their own controls and name tag. Any malfunctions (including battery power) is the player’s responsibility. Both sides must agree to restart a match because of such a problem.
No substitutions are allowed for singles or doubles.
DQ Rule: Arriving too late for a match will result in a DQ. Player(s) will usually have between 5 to 10 minutes to show up, and if they fail to do so without getting prior TO consent to be late, will result in a loss of the first match. 5 to 10 more minutes without showing up results in a loss of the entire set. For doubles, both players on a team need to be present in order to play.
The tournament organizer has the right to save/record any tournament match if possible and has the right to upload said match.
