First rule is that we do NOT talk about Fight Club. We will, however, talk about our event!
Fight Club is back, and we’ll be celebrating the release of the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection and BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle on Nintendo Switch! ARMS and Pokken Tournament DX will be appearing at the event as well, for those looking for “non-traditional” fighting games.
A special tournament will be held using Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, where we will be using the Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers Tournament Mode.
The event will be held at the Superchief Gallery in Ridgewood, starting at 2PM. There is an entrance fee to enter the venue itself” $15 for anyone 18+, and $10 for anyone under 18. Also to note, it does let you into Team1UPEm’s party that happens at 8PM (for anyone 18 and over ONLY).
DIRECTIONS:
To get to the Superchief Gallery, you would need to take the L train or the M train to Myrtle – Wyckoff Avenue Subway Station. Afterwards, it’s a six minute walk to Jefferson Avenue, where the gallery is located.
We hope to see you at the event!

The most wonderful time of the year is coming, and what better way to celebrate the holidays than a Holiday Party! Once again, we will be hosting our annual Holiday Party at Waypoint, where we’ll be having free play on the TVs, as people are playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch!
We’ll be doing a special Christmas grab bag game during the party! Instead of the traditional Yankee Swap/White Elephant Gift Exchange, we wanted to do something different.
Here are the rules:
Item must be in the $20-$30 range. It must be a physical item or a piece of merchandise (like toys, board games, plushies, etc.). We will not be accepting video games or prepaid cards/gift cards. The item must be a physical item or piece of merchandise. Make sure the gift is wrapped up and left unlabeled.
On the day of the event all of the items will get thrown into a giant laundry sack or giant bag. Admins Mike and Geoffrey will randomly generate the order of the participants, and line them up. They will randomly grab an item out of the bag without looking. Once you receive the gift, it’s yours. At the end of the game, you can choose to trade with people if you would like.
We will have another raffle this year, where we’ll be giving away a ton of prizes!
To get to Waypoint Cafe, take the D Train to Grand St. From there, it’s a five minute walk to Ludlow St. After you reach Ludlow, make a left turn, and it’s a very short walk. You could also take the F Train to Delancey St. From there, it’s a three minute walk to Ludlow.
We look forward to seeing you guys at the party!
It’s been two years since Switch & Play NYC has formed, and we’re doing another anniversary event! Once again, we are grateful for all of you guys coming through these past two years!
We will be hosting a competition, similar to that of the Nintendo World Championships, where players will be completing in a series of rounds, where everyone will be playing different games with their own challenges. There will be different games each round, with sub rounds where those who lost have a chance of making it through.
The event will be hosted at Waypoint Cafe NYC on Friday, March 22nd! Sign ups will start as early as 3PM, and the competition will start at 6PM!
DIRECTIONS:
To get to Waypoint Cafe, take the D Train to Grand St. From there, it’s a five minute walk to Ludlow St. After you reach Ludlow, make a left turn, and it’s a very short walk. You could also take the F Train to Delancey St. From there, it’s a three minute walk to Ludlow.
Please note that Waypoint Cafe has a strict policy on outside food, and we would ask all attendees not to bring any outside food with you. We would like to suggest supporting the store by buying a drink, food, or snacks. If you would like outside food, there’s places all over where you could go to, just as long as you don’t bring it back with you to the cafe.
We hope that you are able to join us, as we look forward to having you with us!
The BBQ is BACK once again, and this time, it’s Nitro Fuled!
We will be meeting once again at the Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 5, Celebrating Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled! We’re also planning to host the BBQ on Sunday, July 21st, with July 28th as the rain date.
To determine the headcount of how many people are attending, we strongly recommend to set your RSVP notice as “Going”, because marking it as “Interested” is too vague for us. We want to make sure that we will be buying the right amount of food to feed everybody in attendance. If there are extra guests that would like to attend, please let us know, and consider contributing an item to the event.
We will also be keeping track on food, beverages, and other supplies that will be contributed to the BBQ in the form of a Google Spreadsheet. Please note that contributing something will likely factor into food intake for the event, so in the interest of fairness, please consider bringing something, to help the BBQ run smoothly!
Check out the items that are being listed for the BBQ on the spreadsheet, so we don’t end up with a large surplus of items or supplies we don’t need much of, such as bags of chips.
Info on what we plan to do for Crash Team Racing will be coming soon.
[ Directions ]
To get to the Brooklyn Bridge Park – Pier 5, you can take the 2/3/4/5 trains to the Borough Hall stop.
From Borough Hall, head west on Joralemon Street, and keep walking until you reach Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 5. That will be a 13-minute walk.
You could also take the N/W/R trains to the Court Street stop. From there, walk to Montague Street, then walk until you reach Clinton Street. Afterwards, you head to Joralemon Street, and keep walking until you reach Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 5. This altogether is a 10-12 minute walk.
You could also take the A/C/F trains to the Jay Street/Metrotech stop, but that’s about a 16-17 minute walk.
Once you enter the Pier, we should have seating available with shade. We’ll spend our time chatting, gaming, and of course, eating while our grillmasters will be working the BBQ pits for the day.
If you have any questions on what you would like to bring, feel free to comment! Make sure to fill out the spreadsheet on what you’re planning on bringing with you at the event.
